With the bar set high from the last event held out at White Bay Ferry Terminal, the challenge was on to make this year’s Festival better and for ones who attended I am sure you would agree that this one by far is the best one yet with Toyota Australia once again out doing themselves and delivering the best Festival yet!
With great weather (couldn’t say the same for Sunday and Monday following the event), Festival goers were in for a treat with the festival being jammed packed. Racing Simulators, Toyota and Club Merch stalls, Sponsor/vendor display, show and shine, kids zone etc
The whole Sutton Road Training centre was fully utilised and yes even the road course and skid pan with several lucky festival goers and members having the chance to sit in the passenger seat and taken out for a hot lap around the road track and or a bit of sideways action on the skid pan from Toyota’s drivers like Neal Bates.
All in all, a fantastic day! Looking forward to next years festival of 86 and also on seeing you at it!
Toyota had their Toyota 86 Racing Series cars out on display as well as using them on the road circuit!
With the 86 now approaching 4 years old, you can see the change of the 86/brz scene especially when compared to the first festival where 8 out of 10 rolled up stock whereas this year it was the other way around which also made it a lot easier for the judges to find winners for the show and shine trophies! Kinda hard to judge for best exterior when everyone was stock if you know what I’m saying :)
This years trophies are unreal!
Simon Smith taking out the car of the festival
This festival was also opened up to our sponsors and vendors to come along and join in and some of them had epic stands and really add to the festive mood. Committed to travel down to Canberra from all ends of the eastern side of Australia was unreal from all the sponsors and vendors!
Track School Represent along with Tim Brooks 86 Race Series Car. Can’t wait to see him in action this weekend!
Import Monster had some wheels that I wanted but my wallet said no :(
Spares box with their epic display making the most out of their 86!
Harrop and Sprintex out to show their SC units
Racing Simulators!! I wanted set a time down on it as well and was in the line for it but then I saw the leader board and figured I best not. Ignorance is bliss :P
Some nice props to add to the fun provided by our club sponsors.
Mike from Sydney Motorsport Engineering with the most epic engine transplant to the 86! K24!! Can’t wait to see this one finish!
An Tran … The greatest guy in the club! Some say he IS the good samaritan.. without fail you will see him cleaning your car for you if its dirty!
I was unlucky growing up never seeing a ST205 GT4 in person until last weekend!
86 shooting brake concept was displayed at the festival.
